I thought I’d share with you how easy it is to make a crockpot sling out of aluminum foil.  Why do you need a sling at all?  Well, slings come in handy when you need to lift something out of a crockpot and have it stay in one piece.  (Meatloaf, cakes, breads etc.)

Step One: Lay aluminum foil across the crockpot shown below.  The idea is to be able to pull out the food intact, so make sure to use a good amount of foil.  You should only need two sheets of heavy duty foil unless the final product is very have and deep.

Lay on piece of foil in the crock and make sure you have enough to pull on.  I make sure the foil reaches the top of the crock.

Now lay the second piece of foil.

Add the recipe to the crock like you would normally.  I sometimes will spray the foil with non-stick spray.

When it’s finished, simply pull out the sling with care.
